1. Scope
1.1
This Standard specifies the requirements for periodic inspection of containment system components in CANDU nuclear power plants.
1.2
This Standard provides the inspection requirements for assurance of the structural integrity of metallic and plastic containme nt system components. The requirements for assurance for leaktightness and operability of the components are provided in the documents specified in Table 1. Note: Inspection and testing requirements for concrete and elastomeric seals are addressed by other Standards or procedures as identified in Table 1.

This Standard covers responsibilities for inspection, provision for access, inspection methods and procedures, personnel qualifications, inspection criteria, inspection program development, frequency of inspection, evaluation of inspection results, disposition of defects, repairs, documentation, and records.
